Ewan a Steelers fan? Well at least he has a good TV chair now.
Today was day two proper of Grandma K and Tom's visit. We had a relaxed start to the day. Ewan woke about 6 am but was happy to sit in his swing for about an hour after his first breakfast and then it was bath time and Mom and Dad's breakfast time. Meanwhile Kristi and Tom were out on a brisk walk (rather than a jog because of a toe injury Kristi is carrying). While we were at home waiting for them to join us for the rest of the day, we Skyped back to England to talk with Grandma and Grandad on the web cam and heard all about their recent holiday in Wales. Grandma Colleen launched her own little blog today too. Best of luck! Afterwards while we were getting things ready to go out, Ewan was in his bouncer which was pointing at the TV while the NFL football was on. We reckon we have a little sports fan already. He loves anything where there is a green background and men in colored uniforms. Yesterday it was the Ryder Cup coverage distracting him from his tummy time. Today, he would squeal when a Pittsburgh Steeler player was shown on screen but seemed to be uninterested when they showed the opposition Cincinatti Bengals. We think he just likes the yellow tights the Steelers wear because a couple of months ago the one thing that he noticed on TV were the bright yellow shirts the Brazilians wore in the World Cup. But we could be wrong and he just likes the Steelers (which does not look like such a good plan as it was last year). Later in the day he was not inspired by the Broncos or Patriots boring blue uniforms and slept soundly for most of the time that was on. [DISCLAIMER: We're NOT rotten parents who stick our son in front of the box all the time. Honest!!]
Later in the morning we joined up with Tom and Grandma K and went on a walk to town. We had a very pleasant lunch a Wheatberry followed by ice cream at Coldstone Creamery, which was quite the new concept for our visitors. There is so much choice it is very hard to know what to have. For those not in the know, Coldstone is an ice cream chain that sells extremely good ice cream, but you then have the choice of what to mix into it. You can have anything from regular chocolate chips, to fresh sliced fruit, cookie dough, peanut butter, M&M's, gummy bears, cheesecake biscuit base, marshmallows the list goes on. Once we downed all that, we had to go and walk it off in the richy rich suburbs of Pasadena just south of Caltech and marvel at the mansions we will never have a hope in hell of ever owning.Later in the day Jen and Grandma K went back out shopping at our local Right Start store because Jen could get a discount with her Stroller Strides membership. The major purchase was a bebePOD seat for Ewan so he can sit upright but be supported. We tried it out and the results were quite amusing as he does not have complete control of his head just yet. There was some distinct slumping but it wont be long till he will be able to sit in it and watch the Steelers till his heart's content.

Fraser loves the 3rd of these photos. He thinks it looks like Ewan is pulling some serious G-force as if he's on a roller-coaster.

I like the idea of a healthy lunch, followed by a very unhealthy ice cream. Sounds yummy!
Ewan looks so very cute in his new chair. He obviously loves it as well. Perhaps we adults would benefit from something similar?
