"Boompa" comes to visit

Boompa and Lia drove down all the way from Paradise, CA to visit today.

They arrived early afternoon and Boompa got hold Ewan and get to know his first grandson. They brought some really cool gifts with them. A beautiful hand crafted train, cars and caboose made by a carpenter/toy maker local to them in northern California. Ewan will love playing with it when he's a little older. But for now Ewan can cuddle with his new giraffe, "Longley".


After opening Ewan's presents we all went for a dip in the pool. Ewan did not last long and decided it was nap time and passed out in the shade while the rest of us took a dip and talked about old times.

In the evening we went to The Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Garden to watch the CalPhil 2006 Concert on the Green "Phantom goes to the Opera". It was a performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic music and other instrumental pieces from Verdi and Wagner. The music was excellent while we all got to relax on the arboretum lawn with a hearty picnic. Ewan stayed up for a while but soon passed out on the picnic blanket, as has become usual when we take him outdoors....it must be the music and fresh air.
