Christmas Eve

Christmas preparations continued and the final guest arrived today. Kristina, Fraser and Jennifer's former colleague and good friend from Caltech, who now works at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor arrived to spend Christmas with us all. It was great to see her again, as it had been over a year and it was the first time she had met Ewan. You will have seen some of Kristina's handy work in previous posts. She is an awesome knitter and the clothes he wore in the the pictures at Lake Arrowhead . We made sure Ewan got to hug with his chief designer as soon as she arived.





Later, Dad and Ewan had some fun with him wearing his Reindeer hat that he was sent from Aunty Caroline, Emily and Katey. He was just so funny and cute. All this went on just after we got the stockings hung from the fireplace in the living room.

In the evening we all piled into the cars to go and see the Blossom festival of lights. We thought Ewan would like this as he is such a fan of any bright or twinkling lights. The festival ground was packed with displays and Ewan certainly enjoyed them all. You'll notice his trademark "Google-eyes" as he took it all in which if you didn't know better looks as if he's a bit scared. However, he really liked all the colours and lights.





When we got home we had the family's traditional Oyster Stew meal for Xmas Eve, opened some early gifts from Santa Claus (Because the batteries needed charging for tomorrow!) and then hung out by the tree until some went of to midnight mass.
